...from which vantage point he observes Adelle giving Caroline the tour. She's showing her the spa area and telling her what she'll be doing in her down time, and while this does give credence to the idea that most of the Dolls enlisted willingly, I find it hard to believe that they'd really want these kinds of details. I mean, people take general anesthetic for reasons other than pain, you know? Anyway, Adelle assures Caroline that it's not the end of her life, but Caroline is not too psyched about the whole situation, which Alpha, up from his massage, catches, observing to Whiskey, "She's sad." Whiskey, however, is mesmerized by her lollipop: "Dr. Saunders is nice." Alpha stares up at Caroline some more, and since we never really get an explanation for his (or Ballard's, for that matter) obsession with her, I'll suggest that Joey Potter's IT jumped ship and is in Caroline's body. It would explain a lot.

Ballard looks at the chair and is like, "So this is it," even though he saw the thing last week, and Topher has about as much patience for him as you'd expect, asking Adelle why there's a tall, morally judgmental man in his lab, and then adding, referring to Boyd, "Besides him." Heh. Adelle: "Special Agent Ballard is going to lend us his inestimable crime-solving abilities." Hee. I don't buy for a second that she believes a single word she spoke except for "Ballard," but this is why she's the saleswoman. Topher replies that perhaps he could start by finding the guy who tasered him, which is hilarious, and points out that he led Alpha right in there, and I suppose we're supposed to buy that Alpha somehow forgot the location of the Dollhouse when he first escaped, or something, which makes no sense, but neither does blaming Ballard for getting Alpha in there if Alpha knew where the place was. Anyway, Boyd evenly points out that they need to use every available and willing resource to stop Alpha, and Adelle backs him up, much to Topher's disgust. Just then, November and Sierra enter, and when Ballard hears November's voice saying they're ready for treatment, he turns and then literally takes a step back, like, way to keep your cool there, guy. Topher's good mood returns as he says they're extra "deck hands," and gets Sierra into the chair first while patting Ballard's arm, like, "I know you nailed November and now she doesn't remember your name, but that happens to the best of us." As if to emphasize that, November politely says hello to Ballard, and he just nods with hysterical uncertainty. I'm telling you, make this character funnier. Tahmoh Penikett can handle it.
