Like Christmas In… December?

...but then we cut to someone who clearly could be in a position to find out the Dollhouse's sensitive information -- Echo, who just right now is about to use the keycard she got from that anonymous source to get in to see Ballard, Appearing out of nowhere, however, Boyd suggests she doesn't want to do that, as Adelle is watching her every move. Echo is nervous that she might not get to say goodbye if they decide to pull the plug, but Boyd, notwithstanding the grim conversation he had with Topher earlier, assures Echo that won't happen. He does, however, suggest she say goodbye to Victor, as he's on his way out, but this news doesn't make her happy like he thought it would, as Victor was part of her master plan to get everyone out. Boyd thinks she'll do fine without him, but she tells him all the people she cares about are slipping away. He offers to talk to Adelle about letting her see Ballard, and she's grateful...

...but Adelle categorically denies the request: "Paul Ballard is brain dead because of Echo." Again, I'll resist the beach ball floating lazily in front of me and focus on Boyd pointing out that Alpha had something to do with it, but Adelle isn't hearing that: "It all starts with Echo." Have you noticed how "Marcia, Marcia, MARCIA!" Adelle has been about Echo lately? If only Victor had dumped her for Echo instead of Sierra, we'd really be seeing what happens when you poke the British crazy. Boyd continues to take up for Echo, saying she's a real person now and all Adelle is doing is purposely causing her pain, but Adelle counters that pain reveals a person's true nature. "Let's see who this girl really is." She then turns the subject to Victor and asks if Boyd will handle the final paperwork for his release, which throws him, as Adelle usually does the Active exits herself. Adelle sniffs that she only does so when she was the recruiter, and Victor was assigned to her House. "He wouldn't know me from you." You all can just come up with your own filthy joke while we look at Victor and Sierra on the monitor...

...and then we're down with them as they're eating in the atrium. A staffer then appears and tells Victor it's time for his treatment, so Sierra asks him if he'll sit with her at dinner. He says that would be nice, but just as he starts to walk off, Echo goes for the desperation move and tells him that he, Victor, is not coming back -- when he comes out of the chair he'll have his original personality. "You need to say goodbye to her. If you don't get a chance to say goodbye, you'll regret it." Victor responds to this performance of Overidentification Theater by turning to Sierra and giving her a bright "Goodbye!" with a cheery wave. Hee. She responds equally affably: "Goodbye! I'll see you at dinner." Echo looks like she's starting to share the late Cindy's frustration with Doll-speak.
