Ooh, this is cool -- we're back at the cabin from last week in which Sierra shot those two guys. Ballard arrives to find several cop cars on the scene. He enters to find a forensics team, led by some jerk who gives him shit about the Dollhouse. Ballard evenly replies that the evidence from the scene doesn't really add up if it was just the kidnappers present, and what's more, the girl reported that a "pretty lady" came and saved her. The second-in-command on is open-minded enough, but the lead jerk doesn't want to hear it. Ballard then finds Echo's glasses (the Ghost knocked them off her face when he hit her) and suggests they check them out. The jerk sneers that he will, and suggests he go find the pretty lady. "Be careful. Looks here like she's pretty badass." Dude, go watch some Buffy reruns and then we'll talk.
Cut to a closeup of a steel arrowhead. Echo marvels at the killing power, and her date (Richard is his name) hands her a tricked-out crossbow that would be instant Viagra to Legolas. And speaking of arousal, Richard leans in and instructs her on how best to hold the thing. After some flirting that reminds us just how very on Fox we are, Echo notes that he's good at this, and I'm assuming she means the archery or we're going to have an argument on our hands. Richard confirms that by saying his dad taught him, and he was a big believer in -- [he hits his shoulder] -- "shoulder to the wheel. Do the work. Earn your way." He goes on that his dad thought we take too much for granted, which is nice enough in theory, but if everyone had to kill his own food it would be kind of a nightmare. Still, you never know in this economy. He gets in close again, and Echo speculates that she's not the first girl he's brought into the woods. He confesses that's true, "but so far, you're the only one that hasn't been a disappointment." I'd bet that's not the first time he's said that, either. They move in for a kiss, but Echo notices a deer nearby, so Richard shows her how and where to aim, and says never to take a shot unless she's sure it'll put her target down. She holds it, breathless with anticipation, and then lets go...
