Twists And Turns!

Ballard comes busting into Adelle's office, gun drawn, to find her leveling a piece right back at him. He isn't intimidated, though, saying he'd be only too happy to give his life to take her down. "Any last words?" Adelle merely gives him a Mona Lisa smile...

...but someone who's indeed giving her last words is Echo, as she explains that her nightmare loop was getting out of the Attic, and she thinks by flatlining, she can disengage from the mainframe, just as it seemed she did in the first scene. Clyde confirms that the computer would expel her in that scenario "to avoid any corrupted data," but Laurence still thinks it's insane: "Your plan is to come back from the dead?" I'm with you on the merits, Laurence, but since she's kind of irrevocably committed to this plan, the skepticism probably isn't going to help. Priya says Echo will be able to revive them when they flatline, but Echo doesn't want to risk them too: "I'm not normal. I think I can do this; I've been through worse." Priya, however, isn't trying to hear that: "You know we're just as abnormal and just as ready as you!" Sounds like dialogue you'd hear on Logo all of a sudden. Echo's convinced by Priya's don't-break-up-the-team attitude, but Laurence says he's staying behind to help all the people being tortured, and Clyde's with him, given that his body's halfway across the country anyway. Laurence adds that they'll teach the people to be aware and face their fear, and then tells Echo that if she succeeds and can get him a message, they'll shut down the mainframe. "I guess I'm glad I never did kill you." Aw. I don't know when I developed full-on love for Laurence Dominic, but seriously, Reed Diamond should be working more. Also, he's got serious chemistry with Eliza. Echo tells him not to get sloppy, and as she starts to fade away, murmurs, "Here goes everything." In a moment, she's gone, and Anna Ternheim's "No I Don't Remember" kicks up...

...and then, in the Attic, Echo's body convulses. The scene from the beginning plays out for real...

...and then Tony and Priya are sharing a long embrace before her face goes rigid and we see that he's stabbed her. Hardcore, man. She sinks down...

...and then her body convulses as well. Just as her monitor reads "Disengaged," Echo rushes in and starts applying CPR...
