Just then Luka shows up at the window of the closet, asking Carter whether his cirrhosis patient is "ready to go to the floor." Carter says he still needs to do another...something...last recap of the season...don't care, and Luka tells him to hustle because they need the bed. Carter leaves, and Lisa turns her back away from Luka, resuming her puttering. Luka fidgets at the closet window and asks her about the gardener's chest-tube output. She chirps an answer and comes out of the closet, pawing through some bins on a shelf in the hall. Luka's right at her side, asking whether she's still angry at him. Lisa claims she wasn't angry at him. As they start pedeconferencing down the hall, Luka tells her that she seemed angry, and Lisa says it's her own fault: "I should have ripped it up." Luka says he thought she wanted to go back to school. Lisa shrugs that maybe she does, "just not now." Luka asks what happened (to change her mind, I assume is the unspoken end of that sentence). Lisa chirps, "Nothing!" "You don't want to be a doctor anymore?" Luka presses. Lisa pauses a moment, and then admits, "I don't know." They smirk at each other for a moment, repeating to each other that Lisa doesn't know, and Lisa points out, "It's $40,000 in tuition; it's lost wages; it's another six years of me killing myself...." Luka counters, "When it's over, you'll be doing what you want." Lisa posits that maybe she's already doing what she wants. Luka tells her that, if that were true, she never would have started medical school. By now they've arrived outside a trauma room (Mrs. Neighbour's, I think). Lisa tightly says, "Maybe I realized being a nurse is good enough for me -- is it not good enough for you?" Luka trips over his own feet to assure her, "No! No, it's fine." She looks disappointed, and goes into the trauma room. Luka rolls his eyes again. Hee! It's cute.
