Weaver crutches into Doc Magoo's and spots Mitchell sitting alone in a booth. Weaver goes straight to her and sits down opposite her. Mitchell checks her watch and says she was just about to leave, if Weaver wants the table. Weaver stops her and says that she called Mitchell's office and they told Weaver she might find Mitchell there: "I was hoping that we could talk." Mitchell smirks, "I don't know, Kerry. We've already talked a lot today." Weaver, tearing up, murmurs, "I know that it's been tense between us, and I really don't mean it to be." Mitchell quietly says that she's sure it'll pass. Weaver tells her that she respects Mitchell as a colleague. "Today notwithstanding," Mitchell adds. "I miss you," Weaver says, without any pauses or pretenses. Mitchell raises an eyebrow and says, "Well, that'll pass, too. In a few weeks, we'll just be friendly co-workers again." Weaver says, "I've been thinking, and I'm not sure that's what I want." Mitchell takes a deep breath and gets up, telling Weaver to have a good night. Weaver gets up and follows her, throatily saying, "I'd like you to stay." Mitchell gazes at her, looking for a sign to bolt. Weaver stares back, looking vulnerable. Mitchell's not good enough for Weaver, frankly. But good for them! Weaver, you get down with your bad bi self!
Benton and Finch slowly work on setting things right in Finch's house. It's sad. I kind of hate Benton right now. Benton breaks the silence: "Look, I know you might not want to hear this right now. I know it's been rough, with everything. Between us. I'm not easy. I haven't been there for you -- not the way you've been there for me. I never worked at being with someone. I never even wanted to. But I want to, with you. I love you." Ah. And now I hate him even more. Benton? Look into my eyes. This isn't the droid you're looking for.
