Chuny calls Weaver up to the OR; Weaver lingers long enough to make sure she tells Carter to check up on Susan and her ectopic patient. Because Weaver is anal. Got it. Carter nurses his back pain a bit, but bolts upright when he spies Gamma leaving. "It's late, John," she admonishes him. "I've been a good sport." Carter frets that her dizziness was a warning sign pointing to a stroke or heart attack, but Gamma will take her chances and says she's already signed out against all medical advice. Carter should grab her by the hairpin and yank her all the way back to a bed, but when he's around Gamma, his already sore balls shrivel even more. Carter fights it all the way to her limo, but Gamma continues to blow him off; frustrated, Carter tells Alger to check on her in an hour. I swear I hear Gamma say, "I'm not a steak, Alger." Hey, she's old, but she's right about that much. The limo pulls away to reveal Susan perched on a bench. "Sorry if I offended her," she says. Carter doesn't want her to think twice about it, but does complain that Gamma never takes him or his advice seriously. "What do you expect?" Susan smiles sympathetically. "She changed your diapers." She consoles Carter, noting that all the signs point to Gamma's continued good health. Carter inquires about Amal, and Susan says she's giving Amal until 9 PM before calling her house again. Carter thinks that's pretty risky, but Susan intones, "'Danger' is my middle name." Austin "Danger" Powers will be suing her imminently. She laughs that her first day back has been "like an acid flashback, but without the good parts. I don't know what I was thinking when I said I'd come back." Carter chuckles. "You weren't," he says. "But at least you're working with friends." They clasp hands, beaming at each other supportively. Abby appears at just that moment, pausing to watch this moment of genuine closeness. Carter and Susan watch her expectantly, not releasing their grip; Abby flushes green for a second, then stammers that a woman in active labor has arrived. We learn that her name is Denise, and it's a healthy pregnancy -- for once. Thank God.
