We hear Ephram writing his new paper, in voice-over: "The more things change, the more they stay the same. It's the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw: my inability to change." We pan over Nina, looking at divorce papers, and a cheesy shot of Daddy Hart at the bar, a martini being poured for him. "The more I get to know other people, the more I realize it's kind of everyone's flaw -- staying exactly the same for as long as possible. If you are suffering, at least it's familiar." Amy, looking at pictures of Colin. "So, you maintain the status quo, choose the road already travelled." And now, the only really sad shot of this whole montage: Treat, getting ready in the morning, and deciding not to wear his wedding ring. He looks at himself in the mirror, and puts the ring in his dresser drawer. Aw. Ephram finishes, "When you finally do change, I don't think it happens like an earthquake, or an explosion...but you notice it. Inside, that change feels like a world of difference...that this is the person you get to be forever. That you'll never have to change again." Who do we damn? Say it with me if you know the words.
