We come back to Patch chasing Treat down the street. He tries to explain that he just wanted the people to have a chance to stop him from leaving, or at the very least to say thank you. Treat tells him he shouldn't have wasted his time. Patch implores Treat to give them a chance. "Those people owe you their lives, some of them. They wrote speeches!" Treat thanks him, but goes to get in his car anyway. Patch is all, "Fine, leave," then slams Treat's car door shut. "Don't leave, until you get to hear the truth. You're supposed to say, 'What truth.'" Treat: "What truth." Hee. Patch tells him that he is hardly the failure that he makes himself out to be, and right there is a train station full of people who agree. He hits Treat with his best shot: "Truth be told, I owe you for more than what you did for Rose. For better or for worse, probably the latter, you're my best friend. I'm a better person for having you in my life...and ruining it. Andy, just hear them out." Treat can't refuse that kind of performance.

Back at the party, the MEOW who had the affair is telling another partygoer how awesome Dr. Brown is. The woman tells him that her son was having sex at the age of twelve. "Nice!," Affair Guy replies. "I mean, that's rough. So, you want to go get a drink after this?" Heh. Another guest says she had a four-inch metal rail stuck through her gut. Patch busts in with Treat, explaining that the sensitive doctor was just a little overwhelmed, and now would be a great time to tell him how much he means to Everwood. No one steps up. Patch starts calling on people. "Go ahead, Daniel! Don't be shy!" Daniel, who you probably know as Grizzly Adams, pulls out a speech. "I'd never have given my brother a kidney if you hadn't forced me. And you fixed my bear." Affair Guy steps up. "Hey, Doc. Just wanted to say that was awesome the way you lied to my wife for me. She took off after that stripper showed up pregnant, but you bought us like six months." AWESOME. Treat looks "thankful" for this "praise." Irv pipes up for Treat to do them proud in the Windy City. Patch says this isn't necessarily goodbye, no way! Edna insists that Treat will see this bad idea through. Poor Patch. Treat says he'll be in his office, but opens the door to find Daniel's bear waiting for him. He shuts the door angrily, and thanks everyone for coming, he'll certainly take everything they've said into consideration, but it's time for this lovefest to end. Stuttering MEOW takes this opportunity to "r-r-read his sp-sp-speech." Treat tells him to fax it. Hee. Edna tells Treat he might want to wait a sec. He turns, and Bright is wheeling Rose in. Treat tells her she shouldn't be out of bed. Rose: "I think I've had enough of doctors telling me what to do." She holds out her hand, pulls Treat in close, and says carefully, "You are not going anywhere, is that understood?" Treat nods. "Good. Now, take me home," she tells Bright.
