Hannah carries her bags out to Nina's front walk. Topher, who must be the dumbest ever, bounds up, all, "Ready to go?" Hannah asks where they're going, exactly. Topher says he's taking her to the airport. Sigh. Hannah has to explain to Topher, AGAIN, that she broke up with him. Of course, he didn't realize that when it happened the first time, so now he's all heartbroken. Hannah gives him an apologetic look, and Topher says he'll just be going. Meanwhile, Bright has pulled up and walks over. "What was that about?" Hannah says she broke up with Topher, for the second time, and asks what he's doing there. Bright hands her a sweater, his excuse for coming over. Hannah tells him he doesn't have to be embarrassed; it's okay if he wants to come over and say goodbye. Bright doesn't know what else to do, so he offers to take Hannah to the airport. Hannah says Nina's taking her, but thanks. Bright's like, "Okay, then. Goodbye, Hannah." He shakes her hand formally. Hannah, a little confused, tells him goodbye as well. Bright starts walking off, then stops himself. "Argh! No, wait. I didn't come here just to say goodbye to you." He gets up close to her, and asks if she remembers how when they first met and she said she liked him, it was weird, but then they started hanging out, and became friends. "And you got hot. I'm not talking about, like, the take-your-glasses-off kind of way, I'm talking...really..." Hannah doesn't know whether to shit or go blind. Bright tries to explain himself some more, then just makes this little noise of exasperation and pulls her in for a kiss. And it is good. They stop long enough for Hannah to exclaim, "I feel sweaty!" Bright just laughs and goes in for more. Perfect.
Abbotts'. Amy checks in on Rose, who looks like death warmed up, over, besides, under, against, through, and all the other prepositions I forgot. She closes the door to her parents' bedroom, sees her Princeton housing application on a table, and tosses it in the trash. Patch catches her, and waits for an explanation. "I can't go," she says, and asks Patch to just hear her out. She tells him she's had just about the worst high school experience anyone could ever have. Patch says that's exactly why she deserves to go off to college and have a magnificent time. Amy says she will, when the time is right. "Do you know what got me through the past few years, through Colin, and Tommy, and everything?" Patch answers, "Zoloft, as I recall?" Hee. Amy says no, it was her family: him, and Rose, and Bright. And now her mom needs her, and she couldn't forgive herself if she weren't there, every step of the way. Patch waits a beat and tells her, "You know what? I trust you." He walks away, and Amy smiles to no one in particular.
