Vivian and Daphne are in the backyard doing yoga, Bella's lying across the baby pool and Augie and Cyrus are sitting to the side while everyone analyzes the merits of dating a surfer and if Bella should get back together with this FoBeau (Former Beau... I'm trying it out). Daphne says Bella was uptight. Shane's a rebel. He's banned for life from Peru for skinny-dipping with the Minister of Defense's daughter. The gang says that he's a celebrity now, she's got to re-hook up with him. It's practically law. Bella's actually skeptical, which is surprising. Daphne wants Augie to take her headshot for... something. Bella is still protesting that she's a grown-up, and too mature for the free-spirited Shane. She insists that she's not going to ask Marina for advice on this one.
...Which brings us to the very next scene of Bella walking into her friendly neighborhood psychic's office and asking Marina if she thinks that Bella has a tendency to be too judgmental. Marina's noshing on Chinese food. She practically spits it out. Marina says that Bella's attitude keeps her from having fun. Marina makes up a wild story about a parasite that she caught on vacation that makes her eat so much and that she sleeps with her landlord instead of paying rent. It's not true (though it totally could be), but it does teach Bella that you can't know about people just from the surface.
At Augie's, Daphne's all dressed up, talking about the three different looks she wants. Vivian walks in, making a comment about how hot she is -- this is the second "sex-filled" comment she's made. In fact, her only two lines in the episode have been innuendo-filled and directed at Augie. The dopey photographer looks sort of frustrated as Vivian heads into the shower. At which point she starts moaning. Loudly. Augie can't really focus on Daphne's photo.
At a Wave of the Year party, Cyrus pops up next to Bella and says that he's had a vision that Shane is her man. Maybe he could get a job as a psychic. The pals run into Shane and his beefy surfer pals. Cyrus is mistaken for a bartender and Shane orders a pitcher of Brandy Alexanders. Shane's pals realize that Bella is the "shoe girl." They've watched the Dear John tape over and over. They like that she's feisty. He invites her to dance. There are random people taking photos. This will probably come back to haunt her.
Trying to get drinks at the bar, Cyrus is depressed until a woman comes over and finds out that he's "with" the surfer crowd, which apparently only consists of Shane and his two friends. Hot random girl wants to learn how to surf. She's making comments about how she should learn on a big longboard. Cyrus says he's got one of those. Subtle.
