MONDO EXTRAS
Most people will know Elizabeth Reaser from her memorable recurring stint on Grey's Anatomy as Jane Doe/Ava/Rebecca, the memory-impaired accident victim who got a new face (courtesy McSteamy) and fell hard for Alex and then went nuts. But now that Rebecca is tucked safely away in a mental health institution, Reaser's on to bigger and better things. Namely, headlining a show on CBS. She stars on The Ex-List, a dramedy about a girl looking for love, when a psychic tells her that she's already met and dated her soulmate, so she's got to go looking through her host of former beaus. Reaser's also got a decent role as the mother figure in this little film that is sure to cause a Harry Potter-like frenzy, Twilight. We caught up with her last week to find out more about her character Bella Bloom on The Ex List (which debuts Oct. 3 at 9 PM on CBS), get a little scoop on Twilight and find out more about her work on Grey's.
TWoP: Congratulations on the show. You must be crazy busy.
ER: Yeah. I'm a little cross-eyed right now. But I'm really super excited.
TWoP: How many episodes have you done so far?
ER: We're now shooting our seventh episode now.
TWoP: You having fun?
ER: I'm having a blast. It's so wild. Carrying a show is very different than supporting a show so it's been an incredible experience and I just love the character so much. I'm having a blast.
TWoP: Bella's very cute. Do you feel like you relate to her at all?
ER: Yeah. Definitely. I just love how passionate she is and how open she is on this journey. She keeps putting herself out there. And then her vulnerability sort of makes her hilarious, in my opinion, and gets her into embarrassing situations and I can definitely relate to that without the horrific consequences of dating.
TWoP: So it's sort of like dating but without having to do the real dating.
ER: Yeah. Exactly. Without the tragic ending. It's more fun.
TWoP: So are there some famous faces coming on as Bella's exes? Or just some cute boys?
ER: Or just a lot of cute boys? Yeah. Every actor we've had has just been perfectly cast. We've had Eric Balfour, Eric Winter, Reid Scott and Michael Weaver. Just incredible, hilarious actors and so it's been like they're doing the work for me. It's been really nice.
TWoP: So technically Bella's on a deadline. She's only got a year to find this guy or she's doomed to be alone forever. How will that work in TV time?
