Meanwhile, California Girls are 45 minutes behind everyone else because of their ordeal with the horses. On top of that, they pick the wrong bucket at the urn challenge. Despite all of this, they remain optimistic and full of team spirit.
Country Boys can't seem to catch a break, though. Their size proves to be a disadvantage in the shallowness of the river. Gypsies are able to jump out ahead as Country Boys try to right themselves and make some progress down the river. Gypsies' Eric takes a swipe at Country Boys voiceover: "The thing about country boys -- they love their country cooking, you know." No Limits and Cops do well on the river, with Grandpa's Warriors moving up behind them to the middle of the pack, which is supposed to be a big deal since they finished last in Stage 1. Never mind that they started equally alongside three other teams for this stage. Team Kansas, Mom's Army, Fab 3, NY Firemen and California Girls bring up the rear. NY Firemen attribute it to being overweight. Fab 3's AJ attributes it to not being outdoorsy and preferring to be by a pool drinking mojitos. But he doesn't want you to underestimate him while he enjoys those mojitos! We see him struggle and flip off his kayak as it veers underneath a low bridge.
No Limits is valiantly working to get Erik through the kayaking. Jeff really is all about treating Erik like a brother, it seems. He's calling out directions to Erik the whole time over the loud sounds of the rapids. As Erik talks of the dangers of flipping a kayak and we see Team Kansas and Mom's Army struggle with just that. Mom's Army's Ruthie says her mom just didn't get what to do. Ellie flips her kayak and the camera locates her oar and zooms out with her nowhere in sight.
