Team Gay Angst gets to the sign with the clue on it. It's the symbol for archery, which was on the original wooden sign, but what Gay Angst neglects to notice is the label reads "Archery," emphasizing the first letter. They head back to the first sign with their minds focused on what "archery" could mean. Akbar's Players and The S.W.A.T. have arrived at the first wooden sign together. Very quickly, Akbar's Players figure it out. The Rednecks arrive right as S.W.A.T. figures out the anagram. Rednecks figure it out immediately after that. This just makes Gay Angst's decision all the more bizarre. Teams not known for their intellects figure out the code without much effort at all and now Gay Angst has fallen to last place. Kari, of course, is inconsolable and bitchy, and AJ calls her out for it in TH, saying she crumbles in these types of moments. She invariably cries and starts telling everyone what they should've done. The team has made it back to the original sign with the code and Kari is only focused on the fact there are no more instructions scrolls left, which means they're definitely in last place. That pressure on top of the fact they took away the wrong impression from the clue sets up Gay Angst for a way tougher challenge than it needed to be.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, The Moustaches are having a jolly time. They figure they're so far ahead they can stop and take breaks just to take in the beautiful scenery. They sit briefly at the top of a cliff and check their map to make sure they're going the right way. John's starting to be a bit of a taskmaster about all of this break-taking. He insists he doesn't want to give up first place. It's really odd timing for John to have his foot down on the accelerator when they know their biggest competitor has just suffered an injury. Speaking of that, Ike insists on not letting his team down. He is in no way slowing his team down and they are still in second place with The Valley Girls in tow. Jeff tells us Ike is simply fully invested, as we watch Ike climb up a rock wall. Brittany praises Erik as he makes his climb and then says in TH The Valley Girls are just in awe of that whole team.
