All right, none of this is making sense so far, so Nina asks what determines Peter's frequency. "Depends on his state of mind, which in turn will depend on who he ends up with. Olivia from here or Olivia from over there. Whichever one he chooses, it'll be her universe that survives," says Sam. Then, uh, isn't Olivia the key? Anyway, Nina sees no cause for alarm in that: "He'll choose our Olivia." Sam simply says he wouldn't be so sure of that, and dramatically rolls a bowling ball down the ball return into another ball. But they don't explode.
Back at Olivia's apartment, she's reading the note from Simon, which simply says, "He still has feelings for her." Since "I thought she was you" isn't working, how about this: "We were on a break!"
