Music room. Will tells his little monsters to take a bow. We see that all of the girls and Kurt are in their Gaga finery. Except that Rachel's not there, which Puck notices pretty quickly. Mercedes and Quinn demonstrate that they are really bad gossip-mongers, because they have waited until now to tell everyone what they learned at yesterday's Vocal Adrenaline rehearsal. Quinn is explaining that they were spying on V.A. when Will interrupts to tell the kids that they can't do that. And also to ask what they learned. Mercedes tells them that Shelby is Rachel's mom. Yes, that's right, Will -- you made out with Rachel's mother. Puck thinks that means New Directions is screwed, because Rachel will obviously want to join V.A. [Public school districts be damned! - Z] Rachel chooses that moment to make her entrance, telling the kids she'll never abandon them for V.A., but that she'd rather not talk about Shelby, as she's still processing the news: "My dads are moving my therapist to our spare bedroom later this afternoon." In honor of the news, Rachel has chosen a Lady Gaga
Which quickly smears over to the auditorium, where we see a fully-staged performance. It's a great song for these kids. We get featured vocals from Kurt, Tina, Mercedes and Santana. I kind of want these seven to form their own pop group -- kind of ABBA meets Pussycat Dolls. As for costumes, I've already mentioned Tina's bubble dress, Kurt's silver lamé spacesuit, and Rachel's stuffed animal... thing. Santana is wearing this black lace bodysuit with a big bow on her head, except that Santana's bow looks less like a bird's nest and more like a bow on a present. Mercedes is wearing this hair, with a shiny silver jacket (with hugely puffed out shoulders) and skirt. Quinn is working a hot pink version of this gown that Lady Gaga wore to the Grammy Awards. And darling Brit is wearing a lobster headdress inspired by this, although her actual outfit is not nearly so see-through. And finally, if you want to see the kids compared with actual Gaga looks, you can check this out. Once again, a huge "thank you" to my helper monkeys. I'm exhausted from entering all of those links, but I love this performance. And I'm pleased to see that the boys in the audience are rocking out pretty hard as they watch. Commercials.
