Crash Into Me

Bailey and Meredith are looking at Janell's scans and think that the mass they can see on her lung is the teratoma they are looking for, which has been causing havoc in Janell's brain. They explain this theory Randy, and he's understandably confused and scared by the whole weird-sounding situation. Mere explains that they have to take it out and then test it to be sure. Randy asks if that will then stop her headaches and she'll wake back up, and Meredith replies that that's the idea. He finally agrees to it, and Bailey leaves to get ready. He then turns to Meredith and tells her about how he's known Janell since high school, and she truly is his better half. Mere smiles at the story, all loved up herself and therefore touched by others' sweet love stories.

Arizona responds to a page and is livid to find that Mark paged her so that they can play rock, paper, scissors to decide who has to babysit. Mark makes a speech about how they are all equal parents, the three of them, and this is the fair way to decide. There's no real explanation why, if this is a parenting decision, Jackson seems to be involved in this whole thing but once Arizona gives in, it appears he is there to act as Mark's coach. They decide to play best two out of three; first they both pick rock and then the next time she beats him with a rock to his scissors. He calls a time out, much to her disgust, and discusses strategy with Jackson. Finally, Mark is ready and they go again. Once again, he is scissors and she is rock, so she wins. He tries to blame Jackson for messing with his head but really, he's just worried that Julia is going to kill him for ruining their Valentine's plans. From what we have seen of her that sounds like the last way she would react but maybe she is a rigid she-beast who insists on her holidays following every rule and who secretly hates babies when the two are alone.

Clem isn't doing well and Alex tells her he's going to have to give her a shot of epinephrine. Nico gives her his hand but just then her mom, Terri, finally arrives, a freaked-out mess, and rushes to Clem's bedside where she immediately starts to fawn over her. Karla tells her that the doctors have said Clem will be fine, and this starts some immediate snarking between the two women with Terri thinking Karla is an irresponsible moron and Karla thinking Terri is an overprotective lunatic. As they carry on a screeching fight about how Karla could possibly have not known about Clem's allergy, Alex tries to break them up by telling them this shot should fix the girl right up.
