As Lexie makes a call she hears yelling and gets to be an audience for the latest round of Mark vs. Arizona. Callie is still trying to stay out of it while the two argue more about the amnio, and Mark yells that he doesn't care if there is anything wrong with the baby because he wants to raise it (especially after Addison terminating her pregnancy and Sloan disappearing into the night) (though one could argue that was for the best since she was a nightmare and not really in an entertaining TV way). Lexie is clearly touched by his insistence that he would happily raise a special needs child, though Arizona is more practical about it and won't be swayed in her own stance. She wants to pull Arizona aside but Mark has a fit at the idea, and though Arizona yells that they have a relationship Mark has the pretty powerful comeback that the child Callie is carrying is also his. He can't keep up the maturity the whole conversation, though, and turns and asks for his own private minute, then. Callie is sick to death of all of it and declares that no one but her patient is getting a minute before storming away. Off to the side, Lexie stares rather dreamily at Mark while Avery stares -- worried and a bit annoyed -- at her.
Since Meredith hasn't yet gone to see the hot OB, Alex seeks her out himself to tell her about his friend who is going blind from her fertility medication. Lucy hikes up her bitchpants and proceeds to mock him, figuring this is all an excuse just to talk to her. And while Meredith totally called that earlier too, it's a little offensive since Alex does in fact have a friend who can't really see, and Lucy is just a little bit too in love with herself. I haven't been quite sure about her since we met her but that's quickly turning to outright dislike because I'm so tired of her attitude problems and her incredibly high opinion of herself. I also find it a little pathetic that Alex is still mooning after her even when she keeps toying with him. She explains to Alex that since she turned him down he's trying to figure out if she really was just busy or if she's not interested, and informs him that though he pretends to have a ton of confidence, it's all a sham. She thinks that if his friend really had a problem she'd call herself, and Alex should just man up and ask her out if that's what he wants. He's both pissed and totally intimidated but proceeds to follow her advice and ask her out again... and she once again tells him she's busy. Dear Alex: Grow a spine and get over this one. Love, everyone.
