Jackson and Princess wheel a gurney and some supplies into the ER and she's shocked to see that it's already been basically cleaned out with just some cabinets, ladders, and construction lights left around. He puts her in charge of guarding the door and then almost immediately hears a commotion outside as she yells at someone. It turns out that someone is Meredith, but Princess holds her ground and manages to cop a whole ton of attitude while barring her from the room. Jackson runs out to say that he's the one who paged Mere, and at least Princess has the good sense to look sheepish and immediately fall all over herself apologizing for what she said. Meredith's Unimpressed Face is classic.
Brian and his dad are talking, or rather, his dad is pleading with him to give it some time in case he one day realizes he made a mistake. Brian assures him that this isn't some light decision; this is who he is. Jess then speaks up and pleads that Brian feels like he's dying inside, just like Jess. But when she tries to go on, Brian's dad asks for her to give them a moment alone. Brian doesn't want Jess to go, and the argument escalates a little until his dad yells that Brian's name is Briana, and he doesn't want her mutilating herself. That's enough for Brian, who orders him out and Alex makes sure he leaves.
The secret ER plan proves to be less secret than Jackson intended; he's dismayed to see Cristina walk in with Smash and Heather even though Mere is the one who paged her. But Cristina points out that he's got three doors and only one sentry so she sends the other interns off to the other doors. To add to the dramatic feel of the proceedings, Jackson won't allow them to turn on the lights since they will be seen from the hallway -- thank goodness the construction crew so kindly left their own lights there which they can use instead. When the ambulance arrives Heather runs to the door and reenacts a scene from a bar-b-que I was at with friends when I was in middle school by running straight into the door and falling back to the floor. They realize the doors are sealed tight and so all of the docs have to band together (Alex gruffly orders Mere to sit while he takes her place, which is actually really sweet because he doesn't want her hurting herself or the baby) and try to open the doors. Oh yeah, because Alex has arrived too; Princess paged him with the very valid reason of them needing kid-sized equipment if they are working on one. Finally, they pry the doors apart and get the kid inside.
