As Alex and Jackson work on Brian, they both admit they are no longer interested in being the FotH for Seattle Grace and each wants the other to get it. Jackson says that he doesn't want to be a part of anything where they have to sneak around to do the right thing. Fortunately they get back to discussing the surgery at hand because Alana barges in with Owen behind her and demands to know who is on the table. Confused, Jackson tells them it's his transgender patient, so Alana turns and runs out. Before he follows her, Jackson just glares at them over a mask and asks what they did.
Alana barges into another OR where basically everyone else is working on the kid, but there are so many doctors she can't clearly see what's going on so she demands to know whose patient it is. Everyone exchanges guilty looks so she says she'll just go to the handy-dandy tablet to look it up. Mere leaps over and says she'll take care of it, since he is her patient. Owen thanks her, but the feeling is short-lived when Mere hits a couple of buttons that delete the record (if the kid even had one yet in the first place). Since she was already on record as having this happen all morning Alana can't really say anything, but she shoots daggers at Mere as Mere acts innocent and can't believe she keeps doing that.
To try and get to the bottom of it, Alana and Owen set up in a conference room and begin taking the docs in one-by-one to see who will break first, beginning with the interns. When Jackson and Alex walk up and hear about this, Alex turns and barges right in on Heather's interview to announce that all they did was keep a dying kid alive. Alana jumps on his use of "we" and asks who else was involved, which is Jackson's cue to walk in and tell them it was his call. Owen actually throws up his hands and looks like he'd like to start banging his face into the desk. They both argue that they did the right thing and that was more important than any policies or ad campaigns, and add that he can punish them however he wants. But Owen just sends them and Heather away while Alana flies into a rage about their not being disciplined. Derek then walks in, having been paged by Alana, who knows he used his codes to get the rogue doctors medication. Owen at some point is going to just turn to dust if he gets any more surprises like this. Alana is livid that everyone is rising up against her and reminds them for the umpteenth time that they need her and Pegasus because otherwise they won't have a hospital at all, so they need to finally get on board her train.
