And now it's time for the bored -- oops, I mean "board" -- meeting. Wilson enters late, and Vogler says he hoped Wilson would skip the meeting. That Vogler certainly likes to make his intentions known. One of Wilson's seat neighbors offers him a Danish. He turns it down, which I don't understand, since he might as well get something good out of these meetings. The meeting continues, and Vogler lists off House's various infractions over the past season, neglecting to mention that they all led to the patients' lives being saved (except for the one where House got a Corvette, which only helped House). Cuddy and her awesome bright red suit sigh in resignation, because she knows what's coming. Wilson says that House has problems, but that his crazy methods have saved a ton of lives. Vogler says that House's crazy methods are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the entire hospital, and that the choice is very simple: either House goes, or Vogler and his hundred million dollars do. Cuddy snaps that Vogler shouldn't "personalize" this, which would have made more sense if she had said it BEFORE House very personally made that speech about Vogler's new drug. I didn't understand what Vogler's deal was with House before, but now his need for revenge seems reasonable.

Vogler says that House is a symbol of everything that's wrong with the health-care industry these days. I had no idea that House had anything to do with the millions of people who can't afford personal health insurance, and so must remain helplessly sick. Really, if anything, all that money House spends on Vicodin might actually allow drug companies to lower their prices, which would help everyone. Oh, I'm sorry -- Vogler was talking about how doctors all act like they're the kings of their hospital fiefdoms and are never held responsible for their actions, which I guess is almost as bad as not being able to afford a doctor at all. I guess. Vogler moves to vote to revoke House's tenure. One board member protests that they should discuss this, and Cuddy follows that up by saying they need time to consider this, but Vogler says they've done all the discussing and spent all the time they need. The vote is now. All in favor? The board members take turns looking at each other and their own hands, and then one raises his hand. The rest of the board members quickly follow suit, leaving Cuddy and Wilson as the no votes...until Cuddy slowly raises her hand as well. Ouch. Wilson sticks to his guns, though, and the motion to fire House is defeated.
