Decepticon

House sings victoriously (Agner and Yellen's "Ain't She Sweet?," an unexpected choice from a guy who wears all those rock t-shirts) and hands Foreman Anica's lab results, which are positive for Epstein-Barr, a known cause of aplastic anemia. It's all good for House until Foreman notices that Anica tested positive for sickle cell anemia, which is unusual in a white person, and especially unusual for one who's never tested positive for it before. Foreman figures out pretty quickly that House ran someone else's blood to get the results he wanted. He must have had to do more than compliment her eyes to get the tech to agree to help him with that. House admits to what he did and begs Foreman to let him do the biopsy. I wonder if that will work?

Nope! We cut to House asking Chase to sneak into Anica's room and do a bone-marrow biopsy. Chase protests that he just returned to work from being suspended. House says that Chase is his only option, since "Blackpoleon Blackaparte" alerted the nurses not to let House into Anica's room. Now here is why House is racist: of all the things he could have picked out to make fun of Foreman with, he used his race. He always uses Foreman's race. There are a lot of other things about Foreman that he could say for the sake of being outrageous, but he keeps sticking with the black thing. Even if it's not supposed to be demeaning or necessarily malicious (although, remember Mandingo?), he just never seems to forget that Foreman's black. If I knew someone in real life who said the kinds of things House does, I would call him a racist and not want to have anything to do with him. Fortunately, House is a fictional television character, so I can enjoy his misguided antics without feeling guilty about it, just like how I love South Park's anti-Semitic racist Cartman and how other people loved Archie Bunker. If House isn't intended to be a racist, then the writers need to develop Foreman's character so that House can have some different ammunition for his insults. ["...'Blackpoleon'? Hee." -- Wing Chun]
