Chase tells Morgan that she can either treat her Cushing's with drugs and risk it coming back, or have dangerous brain surgery to remove her pituitary gland. Morgan goes for the surgery, basing her decision on the fact that the cat predicted she'd die. She wants to kill the Cushing's before it kills her. Instead of telling her she's an idiot like everyone else at PPTH, Chase says that he believes there are things that science can't explain and there's a place for faith. But that place is not in the OR. Morgan says she has to believe that there's a reason for all the bad things that have happened to her, or else there's no point in being alive. I guess she hasn't experienced many good things to balance things out. Chase agrees to do the surgery. Hope you enjoyed the screen time, Chase, because you probably won't be in the next five episodes.
While Chase prepares for surgery, House walks into the meeting room. Taub is there to meet him. "I'm quitting," he says. House assumes he has another job, but Taub says he doesn't. House says he'll see him tomorrow, then, as he expects that Taub will think things through tonight, panic, and come back tomorrow, hopefully with donuts, begging for his job back. House will punish him for a while, but ultimately take him back. And now that he's said that, do I have to recap it when it inevitably happens? "Bye," Taub says. And he's gone. Think he'll come back? I want him to, because I like the character. But I'd also love to see House be wrong yet again this week.
