End tag: At MacLaren's, Marshall says, "Let me get this straight. You're really telling me that when you watch The Karate Kid, you don't root for Daniel-san?" Barney says, "Nope." Ted asks who he roots for in Die Hard. Barney says, "Hans Gruber, charming international bandit -- at the end, he died hard. He's the title character." Lily asks about The Breakfast Club. Barney says, "The teacher running detention. He's the only guy in the whole movie wearing a suit." Robin brings up Terminator. Barney says, "What's the name of the movie, Robin? Who among us didn't shed a tear when his little red eye went out at the end, and he didn't get to kill those people?" His friends look at him with alarm, but he's all choked up. "I'm sorry..." He covers his mouth and chokes out his words. Ted swears he'll never watch another movie with Barney, ever again. Barney sobs. "They didn't even try to help him!" And? Scene.

Not my favorite episode, but as I said in the recaplet, it still managed to be funny, despite its shaky premise. The Robin and Barney plot inched forward too, which is interesting to me. I can't figure out how they're going to handle those two in a way that will work. Maybe next week will tell. 'Til next time...
