The party. Prince Walter meets with Templeton to bug him about the details of the assassination plot, and Templeton doesn't appreciate the meddling. "I work for the crown, your highness. I was here before you. And if you do not pull yourself together, I will be here long after you as well." Hey, you ever see Yes, Minister? That show's great. Anyway, Templeton gets a call from Nathan and learns that Gerard's contact was at a bar called McGowan's. The goons are headed to McGowan's!
Chance and Victoria enter a seedy, unpopulated bar, which you will not be surprised to learn is McGowan's. Chance asks for a couple of pints and starts talking to the barkeep about Connor Dunham, and some guy starts hitting on Victoria. Chance sends the would-be Lothario on his way, and he goes without a fight, sharing a significant glance with the bartender on his way out. I liked that scene, because normally those guys are obnoxious and pick a fight with the bodyguard, but he was pretty friendly and left as soon as he was told to. On the other hand, the bartender tells him to "get the back room ready", so I guess there's an ominous overtone to this. Or is it undertone? It's either under or over a regular tone. I'm pretty sure about that.
Victoria worries about Tony and drinks beer. Chance counsels caution, but she feels entitled to a drink.
Garage. Guerrero looks through his sniper rifle at the building across the street. No target, though. Eventually, he's bound to call in reinforcements. He chats with Tony, asking how he landed a princess if he's not even in a band. Tony doesn't have any brilliant opening lines for Guerrero to steal. Tony finds some anesthetic on the goon, which means they weren't trying to kill him. They were trying to kidnap him.
Back in the bar, Victoria moans about her gilded cage, mentioning fencing lessons in passing. That better come up later. I mean, it would be weird if it didn't, right? Chance suggests that she just walk out on everything, but apparently when the heir to the throne abdicates, it requires a lot of paperwork and buy-off from all 16 commonwealths. Chance thinks the real problem is "a typical mother-daughter situation" and that the queen will probably come around. Victoria thinks Chance sounds awfully invested in her and Tony getting together. Just then! The bartender tells Chance and Victoria to follow him. They enter the back room, and Lothario is staring at them. The bartender is Connor. "Where's Gerard?" "Gerard's dead." Well you're about to join him." Lothario grabs Chance's gun.
