Later, Ray is working on his roof and thinking about how, after 20 years of marriage, Jessica misses the nutcracker. Mrs. Koontz gets out of her car and stares hard at Ray. He just wonders why she's looking at him. It starts to rain, so he gets into the tent. The next morning, Tanya shows up and wakes him. She gets into the tent and asks him if he's still working with her. He answers that he can't deal with her right now and his voice is scratch. Tanya tells him that, not to be negative, but living in the elements is how people get pneumonia and die. He says that he could live in the tent all winter if he needed to, but Tanya asks him to not be arrogant about his health. A man his age needs heat. He's about to delve into the age comment when she tells him that she booked two appointments for him. Molly is the next afternoon. Ray says that he's putting in his roof and doesn't have time for Molly. She tells him that these appointments pre-paid and could become regulars. She hands him some cash and suggests that he postpone the roof project.
So, here's Ray in a suit in a hotel. He knocks on a door and Molly answers. She calls him "Richard." He seems surprised to see her. He says that she seems like "a very nice woman." She tells him that he's handsome. He's very quiet, so she asks him if he's a private investigator. He says he isn't. She checks to see if he's wired and comes across the goods. She seems pleased. She starts to take off his tie. He asks her if she has any aspirin. She goes to grab some ibuprofen and he starts coughing a little. He says that he's feeling really ill and doesn't think that he's the right man for the job. She smiles dimly and he leaves.
Damon and Darcy are sitting side by side in a nail salon getting mani/pedis. Darcy says that things went wrong with her and Hammer after she wouldn't have sex with him. Damon angrily asks what that "ass fucker" said. He didn't say anything outright, but he started making little jabs at her. Jessica is there and asks if maybe Hammer was flirting with her with his comments. He was talking about her thighs. Well, says Jessica, guys in high school used to relentlessly tease her about her butt. Um, Jess, something tells me that Hammer wasn't making the same kinds of comments. Darby snaps that she and Jessica aren't the same person and she doesn't want to hear about Jessica's butt. Jessica changes the subject to the manicure that Damon is getting, with black nail polish. She says that it's not really that feminine and guys get manicures all of the time and it absolutely doesn't mean that Damon is gay. He's all, I'm NOT gay. Suddenly, Lenore sits in the chair beside Jessica. She's clearly talking to Molly (explicitly) about Ray walking out of their appointment. Jessica is immediately bothered. Darby says that she saw Hammer with a skinny girl and he hasn't responded to her texts in several days, so she's probably dumped. Damon says that she should forget about Hammer -- he reeks. Darby says that's because of his funky glands, but Damon tells her to stop defending him.
