A crowd of school kids wait their turn to go through the metal detector at a local school. The first kid buzzes, and the security guard reminds everyone that cell phones are not allowed in school. The next kid makes his way through the metal detector. He buzzes too, causing the worldly and wise school security guard to opine that "Everyone is a winner." The kid pulls a calculator out of his pocket. It's covered in blood. As the security guard inspects the kid's bleeding behind, the kid collapses. And we have our special victim for the evening.

Benson and Stabler get the rundown from the doctor at the hospital. Our young victim has lost a lot of blood. He was raped so recently the sperm is still motile. Which is not a word you get to use particularly often. The doctor explains that the most recent rape occurred this morning. Like the rest of us, Benson asks, "Most recent?" Yes, sadly, the boy has substantial scarring and has been raped repeatedly, and there is a lot of evidence of trauma.

Benson tries to talk to the victim, David, but the kid isn't cooperating. Benson tells him it is not his fault, but he still won't talk. Benson and the mother step out into the hallway, where Stabler is ordering a rush on the DNA and wants it put through CODIS. Which you would think the lab tech or ME would do without being ordered, but what do I know? The cops ask if David was okay before he went to school, but the mother doesn't know because David was with her ex. The mother doesn't think the father would abuse David, but she goes on to explain that he has become incredibly religious and has become a Hasid. He moved to Williamsburg (full disclosure: I live in Williamsburg, but that will not influence my reporting of the facts) and David was there last night. As the mother goes back to be with David, Benson tells Stabler that he should talk to the father because Hasids don't so much like the uppity women. Stabler agrees to work the case with Munch, the resident Jew.

In Williamsburg, Stabler and Munch interview Avi Zelinsky, David's father. He is definitely a Hasid. He doesn't understand how this could have happened to his boy, because he was at shul all morning. The cops want to know who was with the kid. A bunch of rabbis and a tutor, which is not a punchline to any joke I know. The cops are very excited to talk to the tutor, but the father is hesitant. He doesn't want to brand the tutor as a child rapist without proof. The cops convince him to give up a name.
