We return to the cabin where sexytimes has resulted in shirtless Ethan (yay!) but only bra-level nudity for Emma (boo!). Sutton interrupts to tell Emma that Annie Hobbs is in the hospital and urges her to get dressed so they can get to Annie before Alec does.

Alec leaves an angry voicemail for Dr. Hughes telling her, in essence, "Can you not misplace an entire person this time?!" At the same time, the kids scamper through the corridors of Phoenix Pres and into Annie Hobbs' room. She recognizes Emma immediately. Sutton assures her that Emma didn't die in the fire. Annie tells her, "No, not Emma. My baby. My baby's dead." She tells the girl she's the one behind the break-ins at the house and the motel. She says they need to know the truth. She had a baby girl who was born on the same day and in the same hospital as the twins. She's not their mother.

Mercer house. Ted tries to tempt Kristin with a little pinot noir nightcap, but she is too exhausted from the day's drama. She mentions the call that distracted him from Justin's mother's surgery and wonders if she was the one on the other line. They were trying to get pregnant at the time, and she was very needy. He assures her she wasn't the reason things went wrong that day. That doesn't help, though, because the fact that she didn't know he left to take a call in the first place is a major issue. He lied to her that he nicked an artery and that the pay-off was a malpractice settlement. Now that the truth has come out, she can't trust him anymore and wonders if she's keeping other things from her.

Hospital. Annie recalls that she went crazy after her baby died. She heard the twins' mom giving up her babies and decided to take Emma. "But then the fire..." she trails off. Emma wonders who the woman down the hall was, and how Annie knows Alec. Annie says she doesn't know the first answer and clams up in fear over the second question. She tells the twins they're in danger. Sutton asks who attacked her in the lake, but all Annie can say is, "Snake! The snake!" A nurse barges in telling them to get out. They rush out.

Alec calls Rebeccannie for a little flirt-terfuge. Basically, they acknowledge that at some point they're definitely going to bump uglies. Rebeccannie hangs up and strides down a hospital corridor. It is, in fact, the same hospital corridor the teens were sneaking through just minutes ago. She walks into Annie's room, gives her an icy look and asks, "What have you done now?"
