Emma whirlwinds out of the hospital with Thayer at her heels. She is freaked out that she's destroying Sutton's life, but Thayer is the first to note that Sutton is doing plenty of life-screwing-up on her own. Thrown off kilter, Emma spins around to go back into the hospital and talk to Eduardo. Thayer is all, "You know, maybe we should let him not die first before interrogating him." Emma stops in her tracks and says, "It's so weird. I keep feeling like someone is watching." Then comes the most awesome cross-cut ever: First, a shot from the perspective of someone behind the hospital doors, then a shot from the outside of the doors as they slide open to reveal Alec in full creepster mode.

A moment later, Alec calls Dr. Hughes in California. She dutifully reports that Sutton has showed up at the hospital and requested they call her parents. Alec puts the kibosh on that, claiming Sutton is back in Phoenix with her parents. Dr. Hughes asks, "And I'm supposed to just take your word on this?" And again I wonder, Is this legal? Alec asks if he need remind Dr. Hughes of "what could happen" if this situation gets out of control, then tells her to play ball. His response might as well have been (and kind of was), "That's what I'm paying you for, bitch."

Mercer house. Laurel tells "Sutton" about her hobo boyfriend's desperate circumstances, and asks, "Isn't that cute?" She says she's going to need "Sutton" to cover for her because she thinks Justin is "the one." Emma is loath to believe that Laurel could have found the love of her life at such an early age, so Laurel clarifies, "No, I'm actually talking about penis-in-vagina, but you already know about that, ya slut." "Sutton" is all, "Oh... yeah."

Hospital. Mads asks why Thayer didn't tell her he ran off to L.A. because of Sutton. He insists he didn't and says he's beginning to think Alec is even sketchier than he previously believed, though he hopes it's not true. Down the hall, Alec updates Ted that Eduardo heard him talking about Annie and warns him that he needs to keep all the kids, especially Mads, away from Eduardo.

Ethan arrives home to play 21 questions with Dan about his relationship with Alec. Dan says Alec helped him out when he was headed down the wrong path, now Dan owes Alec.
