Back at the Mercers', Laurel approaches Kristin after dinner to apologize -- not for her choices, but for her dishonesty. Kristin offers open ears and an open heart any time Laurel needs them. Laurel admits she worried that Kristin would judge her. Kristin assures her that she loves her unconditionally and encourages her to be honest.
Vegas. Sutton is on a serious losing streak, so Little Orphan Lexie proves herself to be endlessly annoying by taking a picture of it. Good timing, jerk. Calvin sees "Emma's" plight and asks the dealer to step aside so he can turn around her trouble. A few hands later, Sutton has made her money back plus $50. Ignoring Little Orphan Lexie's urging, she decides to go all in. She draws a 17 and whips out her balls: "Hit me." Miraculously (or because this damn story would go nowhere otherwise), she draws a 2 for 19. Dealer Calvin busts, and she double her winnings. Little Orphan Lexie leans over to take a self-portrait of her and "Emma's" victorious moment, and I notice her leather jacket has pink ribbons latticed up the side. I mean, man! I know Vegas isn't exactly known for its classic elegance fashion-wise ("It's Ver-SACE"), but really? Sutton calls Calvin aside to thank him for saving her ass. He offers to get her a drink, but she totally blue-balls him. Heartless!
Phoenix. Emma obsesses over the Homecoming pictures of her and Ethan... again. Kristin enters the room and admits she was right earlier, that Kristin and Ted are hiding something. She admits she convinced herself to lie to protect Sutton, when really she was afraid of losing her. "Sutton" assures her that will never happen, so Kristin comes clean that Sutton's biological mother could still be alive. Emma tries to tease the truth out of her, but Kristin clearly knows nothing beyond her existence and the fake name (Renee Peterson) that Sutton ruled out weeks ago. Kristin is relieved to have told the truth and offers to do whatever she can to help "Sutton" find her mom, but the revelation leaves Emma in the exact same place.
