As the guitar strums quietly in the background, Mads and Thayer arrive home to provide a distraction for Sutton. What they don't bank on is the fact that the greatest distraction of all is on Rebeccannie's left ring finger. By "out of the box," she meant a ring box. They're engaged!

Upstairs, Thayer sneaks up on Sutton and drops the bomb. Sutton seems unfazed and a little bit paranoid. She hasn't found the locket and wants to skedaddle. Thayer takes a quick sweep around the locket and sees the locket hanging from a drawer pull near Rebeccannie's bed. Sutton can't believe she missed it. (Neither can I.) Thayer walks over to collect it. He opens it and gasps. Sutton asks, "What? Is it your dad?" Thayer: "No. It's yours."

Back at the motel, Ethan and Emma haven't even taken their shirts off yet. Seriously? When they do, she is wearing a bra that is somewhere between a minimizer and a tank top. Way to bring the sex, Em! Whatever, it's not getting Ethan's mojo down. They drop to the bed for about 15 seconds before he has a crisis of conscience. He comes admits to kissing Sutton on the ranch and obliquely describes things between them as "complicated." He insists it's all over now, but Emma is unsurprisingly not comforted. She tells him it'll never be over between them and that there is always going to be a part of him that wishes he could be with Sutton. He doesn't deny it, just asks, "What do you want me to say?" That is not what she wanted to hear. She tells him, "Nothing. Actually, I am grateful to you... for keeping me from making the biggest mistake of my life." And... scene!
