Head-to-Head-to-Head-to-Head

Finale, Part One - Before we can get to the finals, we've got two wannabe-chefs too many. So we draw names out of a hat and Sheetal faces David, while Whitney battles Lee for a spot in the finals. And the results? It seems like they're drawn out of a hat, too.

The Soufflé Also Rises

Six Chefs Compete, Part Two - The remaining would-be chefs must catch and prepare fish for a trio of food critics who radiate disinterest at the entire proposition. But that's nothing compared to the pulse-pounding action of watching soufflés bake in what feels like real time.

What God Has Brought Together, Let No Chef Tear Asunder

9 Chefs Compete, Part Two - Gordon Ramsay unleashes his young culinary charges on a pair of unsuspecting newlyweds, as the contestants cook for a 230-person wedding reception with predictably frenetic results. The judges then send two contestants home for crimes against pasta.

The Great Crab Massacre of '10

9 Chefs Compete - How many crabs must give their lives in order to determine who moves on in the contest to find America's first MasterChef? Nine, apparently. And how many contestants must face a similar slaughter at the hands of the judges? Just one will do quite nicely, thanks.

Eat Where the Truckers Eat

11 Chefs Compete, Part Two - We've got a big ol' convoy rockin' through the night -- and they all want burgers. But when one team fails to win over enough truckers with their cooking, it's time for another Name the Ingredient challenge. A hat-wearing contestant goes home, though probably not the hat-wearing guy you're thinking of.

Go Fish

11 Chefs Compete - After a cupcake challenge that proves as unfulfilling as eating an actual cupcake, the chef wannabes are introduced to actual Iron Chef Cat Cora. And the secret ingredient is… halibut, which the contestants must prepare to Cat Cora's exacting specifications if they want to live to fight another day.

War is Hell's Kitchen

12 Chefs Compete - The remaining amateur chefs are divided into teams and tasked with cooking a meal for U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton. After one team honors our fighting men and women by not giving them enough to eat, team members are pitted against one another in an elimination challenge that forces them to identify the ingredients in a bowl of chili. Hint: The secret ingredient is the loser's tears.

Orange You Glad I Didn't Pick Mushrooms?

14 Chefs Compete - You know what the trouble is with eating food in a Chinese cooking challenge on a reality TV show? Half-an-hour later, you just want to eliminate another chef again.

One Egg to Rule Them All

Top 14 - You know that old saying about too many chefs spoiling the pot? Well, too many chefs really spoil reality cooking competitions. So Gordon Ramsay and company decided to slash the field in half with the same precision the amateur chefs use to chop up onions in the first of two elimination competitions to whittle the field down to 14.

Leftovers? Again?

Auditions #2 - Hey, remember when your mom would whip you up a passable meatloaf and then like, two days later, she'd serve you up meatloaf surprise or meatloaf sandwiches or meatloaf served three ways, but no matter what she called it, it was still the same old meatloaf you had eaten previously? That pretty much describes Episode No. 2 of MasterChef, which features new contestants doing the same auditions and shedding the same amount of tears. Hope you folks like meatloaf.

Sous Chef? More Like Boo-Hoo Chef

Auditions #1 - Unheralded amateur chefs are brought together to compete for the coveted and apparently recently created title of Master Chef. But first, they must earn a spot in the competition by creating a dish to please Gordon Ramsay and his fellow judges. And that means tension and tears. Lots of tears. A veritable prix fixe menu of tears. Bon appetit.
