In the bathroom, Annie doesn't have any problem with her obviously out-of-control competitive spirit and thinks Patrick is in the wrong for not liking every single thing about her. Patrick says he stills wants to marry her. Just not play checkers with her.
Marin, Cash, Jack, and Jack's turtleneck sweater enter the Chieftain, with Marin weakly staggering around like she's on a bad ecstasy trip or something. The town claps and cheers. Cash graciously thanks Jack for getting them home, only to get lectured by Jack for doing a "lousy job" of "protecting" Marin. Cash says it's Jack's fault Marin was up on that mountain in the first place, earning him a punch in the face. A good ol' Alaskan bar fight commences.
Back from break, Cash and Jack feel sheepish for their fight, and Mai says it must be nice for Marin to have two men fighting over her. She couldn't even get one man to fight for her. Buzz decides it's time for him to use the Chieftain's stage and win Mai back. He takes the mic and starts singing to Mai. Badly. Mai forgives him with a kiss, which everyone cheers for because it makes him stop singing.
Inspired, Marin talks to Jack, who's icing his hand. She tells him she was trying to find closure about their relationship, and he says that's hard for him to hear even though he's engaged to a woman who's pregnant with his child. They both take a second to acknowledge their sadness over their relationship being over, and Marin thanks Jack for saying their relationship was real. And with that, the town starts cheering because the storm is over. I guess it moved out as quickly as it moved in.
Everyone walks outside and enjoys the storm-free air. Celia and Richard are back together; so are Buzz and Mai. Cash and Jack exchange a look that says, "We both love Marin, because we are kind of lame that way." Marin VOs that the truth will make some couples closer and others...not so much. Lynn gives Sara the book, saying she doesn't think she wants her child to believe in fairy tales after all.
Marin gets home and finds that Jack's tree was uprooted in the storm.
And we see Cash's issue rock. It says "sickness." Uh-oh.
Marin replants the tree and VOs about roots and growing. That's probably bad news for the citizens of Elmo who were hoping she'd leave.
