MONDO EXTRAS
Fall Pilot Season 2011: Pan Am
Kate goes to buy her precious gum, and is looking at her sister's cover story when a handsome stranger comes over, buys himself the mag and the gum for her. They casually walk over and trench coat guys is like, "Are you ready for your first assignment?" and when Kate nervously accepts her mission, and he says the crook is sitting in 3D, and that they'll detain him at Customs in Heathrow and that she has to swap out his expired passport with this fake one without him noticing.
In a whole other place, a bunch of beatniks are passed out after a party, one guy is on a typewriter and in walks Christian Ricci's character, Maggie. She gets a call from Bill in scheduling; they need to her to cover a shift at 8:30. Some big shot named Paul Gilbert needs Maggie there in 35 minutes to be the Purser, despite her uniform violation and, despite her terrible excuses, he is flying her from Midtown via a helicopter, no ifs ands or girdles. But yeah, wear the girdle. The pilot is like, "Hey, where's Bridget?" and Gilbert is like, "We are flying that Clipper Majestic with or without Bridget," whoever Bridget is.
Kate, Frenchie and Blondie are walking to the plane when Frenchie sees some dude and is like "John?!" with a huge grin on her face. These two clearly have some sexy history together. Hmm.
Back in what I have to assume is the Village, Maggie tells a guy who looks like Andy Samberg that he can crash but has to lock the door when he leaves. "Maggie! You dropped your silly blue hat!" and she's like, "I see the world, Sam. When's the last time you left the Village?" -- called it! Maggie hails a cab while the other girls prep the plane for it's first flight ever. The co-pilot, Ted (Michael Mosley) shamelessly flirts with the girls, Maggie changes in the cab and we have a plane to fly, folks! The pilot, Dean (Mike Vogel... this is the second Grounded for Life alum we've seen so far on this show I might add) rubs the Clipper Majestic down, thanks Ted for the banter and smiles a big doofy grin.
