MONDO EXTRAS

Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers

Anyway, when we come back from the hot breaking news, everyone has been released from his or her prison, and Ben is there too. Maggie announces that she and Jason have decided that they don't want to leave. Ben freaks out, because Fiona and Richie are coming over, and they're the ones who get to make the decision about the sale. Maggie says that she liked Ben better as a slacker. Me too, Maggie. Ben asks Mike for the keys to his car, and heads to the garage.

The electricity comes back on (the union must have come to an agreement), as Ben gets into Mike's car, puts the garage door down, and backs through it. Everyone runs outside to inspect the car-shaped hole in the door. Fiona and Richie pull in, and Fiona pitches a fit about the hole. Maggie says that the house has a lot of scars. Richie chuckles. Fiona thinks the house should be torn down, and that she's going to talk to her father. Fiona and Richie storm off. And then (and if you didn't see this one coming miles away, you clearly need to watch more television), Carol goes into labor.

Everyone has piled into the RV to head to the hospital. Maggie tries to comfort Carol while Mike's kids brat it up some more. Carol starts crying and worrying that she won't be a good mom. Mike makes fun of her, and Carol tells him that he's always been naturally been good at everything, while she's always had to work hard and study. So she doesn't think she can be a mom, because she didn't go to school for it. Jesus. Who wrote this piece of crap?

The RV arrives, and Carol's husband greets them at the curb. Carol tells Scott that she doesn't think she can be a stay-at-home mom, but that she'll be a stay-at-home executive.

Kate arrives at the hospital and is told that it's going to be a few hours yet for Carol. Mike explains that Michelle took the kids down to the cafeteria. Oh, great. Leave the one who just got arrested in charge of the little hooligans. Mike wants to talke to Kate alone. He tells her that he said no to Tokyo. Kate is momentarily happy, but says she thought that's what he wanted. Mike says, "I'm Mike Seaver. The guy who once glued his hand to his head. What do I know?" Remember when Mike was in Our Town? Good times. Kate hugs Mike, who says that money will be tight for a while, but that they'll all be together. They hug again. Mike's phone rings. Do you think Kirk Cameron really has a phone with the Growing Pains ringtone? Do you think that would be a good Christmas present for my brother?
