The Tannest Teenagers In Tan-Teenageville

Later, Troy informs Sharpay that he isn't doing the show. Wearing a jazzy headscarf, she screams. (Joe R: "She's apparently suffered a very sparkly brain injury.") Troy tells her that he's an employee, and employees aren't allowed to participate. She tells him that this doesn't apply to him, but he says he's returned to the kitchen in his old job. He doesn't like how the club has been treating his friends. She reminds him about the boosters, and he tells her they can enjoy him as their waiter. "I'm more interested in what my friends think of me -- and what I think of myself." She tries again to drag him up to the stage, and he's like, "No way, Pinky -- back to the galley!" The SBs comfort Sharpay. She will not accept their comfort. Kelsi is ordered to locate Ryan. She smiles to herself. Conniving is cuter when girls with glasses are doing it.

Show! Fulton introduces "Tina and her tippety-tappety toes" to do her tap-dance routine. As Tina begins, Ryan dramatically throws a curtain aside to find Sharpay backstage. She acts all happy to see him now, of course, since she needs something. He basically tells her to fuck off, which she deserves. He also tells her she can work alone on this one. She growls unhappily. Fulton, who also hates her, tells her that "the curtain's up," and it's "showtime." He's secretly hoping that she is forced to go out there on her own and sing a duet with a cardboard cutout, you can tell.

Troy is in the kitchen in his serving-wench vest and shiny tie (really?), and he and FOT lock eyes. Understanding passes between them. FOT reports that they heard from Kelsi about him dumping Sharpay. "I'm more interested in what went down between me and you, man," Troy says unconvincingly. They agree that "brothers fight," and then they hug it out, which makes sense, because they are both bitches. Troy apologizes to everyone else for messing up the show, and he apologizes to Ryan for the way it turned out. Ryan tells him that the whole thing was fun anyway, and FOT promises that Troy will enjoy seeing Ryan play baseball. "I'm looking forward to it," Troy says dramatically. (Joe R: "And then...they kiss.") Ryan changes tracks on Troy, saying that he (mostly) doesn't want to see Sharpay humiliated, so he thinks maybe Troy should go out and sing with her after all. Troy thinks it over. Let's see...she treats your friends like crap, she muscled them out of the show, she talks to everyone like they're dog doo, but...that doesn't mean she should experience any consequences. I mean, really.
