MONDO EXTRAS

Back in the theater, Howie is saying he wished it didn't have to end. I do not share that sentiment. He then tells the crowd he'll see them next time. I will not be watching. And why is this crowd so damned excited? Did they give them some sort of goodie bags? Because as far as I can tell, they just spent an hour sitting in a theater watching hidden camera clips on a TV to see 5 minutes of lame banter from Howie Mandel. Is the whole audience out-of-work actors? Also, how long can this show possibly run? Howie's "Jerry" disguise isn't that convincing. It's not like he's Sacha Baron Cohen or something. He's not a man of many voices or faces. Once people have seen the show, they'll be on to him more quickly. Perhaps he'll have to hire better actors to play the parts of the marks. Because otherwise I just don't see how it could work for more than this already filmed season. Which isn't a complaint. I'd be happy if this ran its scheduled run and then disappeared into the netherworld of TV that we never speak of again. It would be a happy day. But, given Howie's inexplicable popularity, we'll probably be suffering through commercials for this for a long time to come.
