Hospital. Michael is being questioned by a homicide detective, in front of both Sydney and Gay Matt. The detective would just like to clear up some accusations "made by [Sydney] here." Michael: "Detective, I'm telling you, this woman is deranged." Sydney: "You're FINISHED, MICHAEL." Gay Matt: "[Gay silence.]" Detective: "Let's try to stay on track." He asks if Michael had been drinking "on the night of the accident when Dr. Shaw lost her life," and Michael cops to drinking "a little bit." He then explains that he's divorcing Sydney, and that she's making this all up. Sydney: "[Glare.]" Gay Matt: "[Will I ever get a plotline?]" The detective asks Gay Matt if he has access to the paperwork about Michael's blood alcohol levels on the night of the accident. Gay Matt says, "Um. Uh. Gosh. No. Not really. Um. No." What a wordsmith. Sydney starts saying something about how her sister will attest to something or other -- perhaps to the fact that, yes, Sydney is deranged (and don't get me wrong, I like Sydney, but a mental giant she is not, not to mention the fact that she's incapable of plotting, like, anything, ever) -- as Kimberly strolls in, neat as you please, carrying a coffee and wearing scrubs. "You paged me, Doctor?" she chirps to Michael. "Oh my God," Gay Matt says, off-camera. Michael smiles smarmily. "Excuse me, Detective, but doesn't a homicide usually mean there's a deceased person? This is Dr. Kimberly Shaw. The woman this little TWIT is saying I killed." Sydney -- poor, stupid Sydney, who you would think would know better than to try to match wits with...well, anyone -- looks stunned. Kimberly smiles cheerfully and shakes the detective's hand. "Hi there, Syd," she chirps. And Sydney passes out cold. "Finally, the reaction I've been looking for," Kimberly grins, and then she and Michael start making out. In front of everyone. Delicious. AND professional.
