Are you kidding us with this?

Riding the Bus with My Sister

Now we're on Rick's bus. Beth plays matchmaker once again as Rachel takes photos. Cranky guy says she never shuts up, and Ms. Boring says that she should get a job and stop living off of the government. Yeah, but, like, what job would you like Beth to have? Do you really want her preparing your latte every morning? Or delivering your mail? Or going anywhere near your pet? Or showing up in crap TV movies? Also, cranky guy and Ms. Boring: Get a car! I totally thought that cranky guy and Ms. Boring were going to end up together and find true happiness and that, like, Beth would be their flower girl. It doesn't happen, but I bet it was in the original script. Ms. Boring starts to complain that they just passed zone one and that Beth doesn't have the appropriate pass and should be put off unless she pays extra. Ms. Boring is quite vigilant about her point, and goes on about it for a bit. She really hates Beth. Rick comes to a stop and addresses the passengers, saying that he's very responsible about his driving and the safety of his passengers and doesn't appreciate people being mean to other people on the bus. That's it? "I don't appreciate people being mean to other people on my bus." Ooh, I bet they are shaking in their too-tight sensible shoes. He asks Beth to show her pass, which is, in fact, a zone one pass. He tells Beth to chill out, then exchanges a smile with Rachel via the large bus mirror. Beth starts to play her boom box, which is also irritating on any form of public transport.

At the bus depot, Rachel takes pictures of Rick while Beth says he's sexy. Beth taunts Rick to ask Rachel out on a date, because she knows he wants to. More pictures of Rick and Beth being affectionate. Rick casually asks Rachel if she plays pool. Well, I will give Beth that she is a better matchmaker than I am. Later, they play pool. Rachel asks Rick what Beth means when she says, "I don't kno-ow." Rick explains that when she says "I don't know" normally (for her), it means she doesn't know. But "I don't kno-ow" means that she probably knows but isn't going to tell you. Rick confesses that he used to dread seeing Beth, but then started looking forward to her big smile. Good on Rick, because I don't see myself getting to that point. He says that all of the bus drivers are fond of her and feel very protective. Except, Rachel adds, Mean Eugene. Rick says that Beth might not have as much to offer as other people, but she gives it all she's got. And that's a ringing, caring endorsement? Rachel says that she thinks Beth can make progress. Rick says that people make fun of Beth and get impatient with her every day. He asks Rachel to go easy on her and not to expect too much. Low expectations are always the key to a happy life. Commercials.
