The Scariest Two Hours Ever

The Facts of Life Reunion

Stee: Why is the old boyfriend drinking a highball on the street? What is he doing here?
Pamie: "Also...I have no friends or family to be with during the holiday season."
Stee: "Partners. You have all the money, don't you? Good."

Mrs. Garrett finds Tootie and Robert outside. Robert says he's talked to Natalie and everything is fine between them now. See? It's that easy! They all follow Mrs. Garrett to the food.

A woman stops Raymond and says she had a reservation for this evening to eat. Raymond is dressed like a pilgrim. He tells her that the restaurant is closed this evening for a private event. They're eating at the Eastland cafeteria. She asks why. "We like eating off of trays." He invites her along and tells her that today is Thanksgiving for them. She calls him Miles Standish.

The food critic asks if she can eat alone. Raymond says he can set something up for her away from the table.

In the scariest Thanksgiving montage ever, there's a close-up of Natalie laughing, a close-up of Tootie laughing, a close-up of Blair laughing, and a close-up of Mrs. Garrett touching her son. The food critic has her own turkey, pie, and everything -- a giant meal all to herself. She is amazed at how great turkey can be. American music plays in the background as everyone eats and remembers how great turkey can be when an American eats it. Harper and Natalie kiss at the table. Jo's husband is there. The French chef laughs. Blair's husband kisses her. Sam has no family, either. The food critic eats in fast motion.

Pamie: "I made a crock pot of -- Who are you? What? We can't have an interracial couple here."
Stee: "I put all my shoes in this container."
Pamie: "Shoe soup is ready. Girls." That's the restaurant critic. Mrs. Garrett's going to get a great review!
Stee: For shoe soup.
Pamie: That reviewer's a man.
Stee: It's Mavis Beacon.
Pamie: I hope she falls asleep from all the...
Stee: Tryptophan. Ah, crap. Now I have to look up how to spell "tryptophan."
Pamie: Ha! Excellent. Nucleotides.
Stee: Shut up. When did Mrs. Garrett join the Peace Corps? I'm confused.
Pamie: So is Mrs. Garrett.

Mrs. Garrett stands to make a toast. She says they all have something very special in the way they care about each other. They learned from each other. She says it wasn't easy to leave all of that, get married, and join the Peace Corps, but what she learned at Eastland got her through life. She thanks Blair for her loyalty to her friends and her devotion to Tad. To Tootie ("Surrender, Dorothy!" Mrs. G. shouts when Tootie complains about being called "Tootie" again), she's thankful for Tootie's commitment to the theater and to her daughter. She thanks the missing Jo for her guts, gusto ,and her courage to go for anything. She thanks Natalie for her amazing sense of humor and her endless compassion to others. "To all of us, to many more reunions and...to peace on Earth." Everyone nods because of the war. They all toast.
