The Fox Fall Press Junket: Reality Shows

Next, I spoke with Rachel Bradshaw and Sarah Gunsolus. A lot of people were really excited to talk to Rachel because her dad is a Football Legend and also, apparently, highly regarded in the broadcasting field. And, unlike Rachel, he's earned these things on the basis of talent and hard work.

Sara M: So, I'm here with Rachel and Sarah from Nashville...[whispers] Which one's which?

Sarah: I'm Sarah, she's Rachel.

Sara M: Ah, thanks.

Sarah: Where are you from?

Sara M: Television Without Pity. Dot com. It's a website.

Sarah: Are you going to make fun of us?

Sara M: [nervous laughter] Um, yeah, pretty much. No, no, I'll be good. It'll pretty much be a transcript of the interview and I'll be sure to say you were both pretty and nice. So! I'm sure you, Rachel, have been getting a lot of questions about your dad today --

Rachel: Yep.

Sara M: So I'll stay away from that. Although one thing I did want to ask you about was how you say on the show that you want to get your career going without the fact that you're Terry Bradshaw's daughter helping you, and yet the first thing we see of you on the show is you with your dad.

Rachel: Yeah, I mean, I liked that because he gave me the best advice I could've had before, um, you know, staying in Nashville for the summer, and I'm not trying to hide from him or trying to hide from the name. I just wanted to get out there and do it on my own a little bit. A lot of people with celebrity parents let their parents do all the work for them and I want to be one of those people who does it all by myself.

Sara M: Cool. And how did you two meet?

Sarah: We met through school at Belmont University, yeah. I'm a singer-songwriter and so is Rachel, so.

Sara M: And how has your career gone since the show? Has it helped you at all?

Sarah: Yeah, I think my career is better than it's ever been and I'm at a great place right now.

Rachel: Yeah, the career's going great, and through the show, you'll see a lot of failures, a lot of success. It's gonna show how hard the business is. When the show ended, we were all blessed with opportunities and, yeah.

Sara M: Unlike many of the people on the show, you two came into it knowing each other as friends. It seems like everyone's sort of thrown in together for the sake of the show.

Sarah: Yeah, Rachel and I were already best friends. We knew Clint --

Sara M: Everybody knows Clint!

Sarah: Yeah, Clint seems to have a connection to everyone. We are all in the same circle, we're all in the young Nashville crowd, so, we know each other.

Sara M: Can you play any instruments?

Sarah: I can play a little bit of guitar.
