Also at the party, I was given some casino chips to play at the tables to try to win Fox-related prizes. I had the Season 2 DVD of House in my sights, but then I sat down at a poker table with King of the Hill's Kathy Najimy, who had Stephen Root perched over her shoulder giving her poker advice. And they totally won all my chips. I said they were stealing food out of my baby's mouth, but they had no mercy. I'd like to say this experience had made me so bitter that I refuse to watch Hocus Pocus or Newsradio ever again, but, you know, that's a promise I won't be able to keep.

So that's it for my second installment of the Fox Fall Press Junket. Coming up tomorrow will be my interviews with stars of Fox's dramas, including Robert Sean Leonard from House and some of the squints from Bones.

Sara M: But you got that Golden Globe!

Ayda Field: But that's for pet owners. I don't know if that counts. I have a goldfish.

Sara M: Those are easy to take care of.

Ayda Field: You'd be surprised how easy they are to kill.

Sara M: I've killed a cactus before.

Ayda Field: Oh my god, that's sad.

Sara M: People have gotten mad at me for this.

Ayda Field: You killed it on purpose?

Sara M: No.

Ayda Field: That's okay, then.

Sara M: People usually don't believe I could be that bad at gardening.

Ayda Field: You should keep it and show it to them when they don't.

Sara M: Keep it in the closet with the dead babies. That's a great line to end this on, I think.

Ayda Field: Oh, god, I'm so afraid.

The interview day ended with an opportunity to watch a table reading of American Dad. I've never been a fan of Family Guy and heard American Dad was just a show for all the jokes that didn't make it into Family Guy, but I went to the reading because I'd be crazy to pass up an opportunity like that. And they had free dinner there. And drinks. And it was surprisingly funny and entertaining, so I have to admit that I was wrong and will watch American Dad from now on. After the table read, they opened up the floor to any questions. But the room was really hot and stuffy and the radio people were too cool to ask questions and the affiliates were too bland. So I decided to ask Seth MacFarlane what was on my mind:

Sara M: Aren't you hot in that leather jacket?

Seth MacFarlane: Yeah, I am, actually. I'll take it off. [He does] Do you like that? Oh, she is not at all amused.

Sara M: I'm from the internet.

Seth MacFarlane: Maybe you need a drink to loosen up.

Sara M: I'll have an Amstel Light, please.

So then Seth MacFarlane walked over to the bar and got me an Amstel Light, which was cold and tasty. I happened to see him again at the Fox Fall Party and he got me yet another Amstel Light from the bar. Seth MacFarlane is pretty awesome.
