I found the Yule Log this year on the MSG Network, which...makes no sense, because MSG is a tristate-area sports channel and has no business featuring a log of any kind, unless it's in the context of some sort of hauberk-type thing. Also, the Log aired from midnight to 4 AM. Huh? The time for the Log is in the morning, people. The morning.

In any case, the Log acquitted itself well -- despite balancing, weirdly, on a pair of charred-looking rocks, and despite the accompaniment of, by turns, 1) a contralto nearly crying during "The First Noel," and 2) a group of tenors almost bursting out laughing during "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." The Log also had some continuity issues -- it sort of fell to one side at one point, then reappeared upright moments later -- but I'll let it go.
