Where Every Bunny Knows Your Name

Fall Pilot Season 2011: The Playboy Club

Nick and Maureen, looking like a regular Betty and Don, sit in the kitchen and argue parallel to the Chicago skyline. Nick is running for State Attorney and tells Maureen to get the heck out of dodge. She's not going anywhere, she protests... except for hiding in a different part of the house when Carol-Lynne comes home. While I'm still slightly unclear of their relationship, it's obvious that Nick and Carol-Lynne go at it quite frequently, and that he definitely cares about her to a certain degree. Carol-Lynne sees Maureen's shoes on the sink and races out, running into a suspicious sopping-wet-men's-shirt-wearing-Maureen. Nick: "It's not what you think" Carolynn: "You don't know what I'm thinking."

Maureen arrives at the Playboy Mansion, where Brenda already knows about her time spent with Nick. She's clever with a misdirecting penis joke, and the two bunnies talk about the man, the myth, the legend of Nick. Maureen's in trouble, but she's beautiful, so she'll be okay.

The next day, Billy's on a phone call from Mrs. Clyde Hill/Bruno Bianci, while Nick sees himself on the cover of the Fake Newspaper Times with the headline "DALTON COULD WIN HEFTY SETTLEMENT FOR NEGRO HOUSING 'VICTIMS'". Turns out these things happen all the time; a woman calls to see if her husband was at the club and this dude lies his face off. The subject of Carol-Lynne comes up, where it is established that she is smart and that I like a lot of the dumb jokes made on this show. Nick immediately runs into Carol-Lynne, who is still not over last night.

At the bunny meeting, the first rule of Bunny Club is do not talk about how bunnies are humans. Billy mentions Clyde Hill and Maureen is freaking out. And no, door bunny, it's not just because she's on her period. Sexist!
