Somehow. Just go with it, OK? It's a spy show. The recorded message contains an explanation from Skinner about why she killed the watcher (he was about to kill Henry), and questions like, "Have you ever been in love?" and "Do you have a girlfriend?" (Answers: "No" and "No") Things that Edward could answer truthfully and still pass Trumble's test, while Skinner puts on a show for Mavis and Trumble, pacing in front of the two-sided mirror pretending to ask whether or not he is broken, or if he killed the watcher. I know, it's confusing. You kind of had to be there.

"Apology accepted!" Edward bellows, as Mavis and Trumble walk him into the Situation Room. "Now, where is Raymond?" Mavis says Raymond and Dietrich (the cold fusion scientist Raymond was tracking down last episode) were last marked at "a secure lab outside Beijing." Trumble doesn't want to send Edward in to extract them alone, so he gets a new partner: the bubbly, layoff-weary girl we met at AJ Sun earlier. Edward's understandably worried that this stranger will blow his cover if Henry shows up during the mission, but Mavis assures him that she'll be on comms during the mission, which... isn't much of a consolation really, but what can she do? Also? Wow, so glad the show didn't waste any time with Henry barging in during the interrogation scene. It seems like they're starting to take care to not make his intrusions too terribly predictable. Hey, maybe Edward will be able to perform the mission without a Henry hitch in sight! What? There's no way that's happening? Oh, right.

The mission: "Paula" will drive up to the lab facility and distract the guards by pretending to give birth on the sidewalk a little bit, giving Edward time to bust into the facility and extract Raymond and Dietrich.

Paula does her thing and Edward breaks in undetected, disabling all guards in his path with non-lethal ammunition (surprisingly?) and/or some sweet Karate moves. Edward quickly finds Raymond, who is in a cell being electrocuted by one guy and one guy only. Henry takes care of that guy, frees Raymond, and they go off together to find Dietrich. Dietrich, being a nerdy guy in a short-sleeved button down, agrees to go with the two scary men holding guns.
