I would just like to take a moment to commend myself on my great job recording these episodes. Considering that most nights when the show was on, I was in front of the TV on an ergometer, I still managed to press pause, and then un-pause, with enough precision to match the pre- and post-commercial Showcase station IDs like the patterns on sheets of wallpaper. I rule.
Anyway, after the break, the camera pans down a wall to where Angela is standing, watching someone off-camera. With her now-dark hair, dark sweater with its high collar, and her pale, pale face, she looks very pretty. AVO says, "His name is Jordan Catalano. He was left back -- twice." We get our first glimpse of him, leaning against the wall and blinking at the ceiling. He looks very pretty, too. AVO says, "Once I almost touched his shoulder in the middle of a pop quiz. He's always closing his eyes like it hurts to look at things." The camera cuts back to show him putting drops in his eyes, so that we in the audience, who are a little less naïve than Angela, have an idea why his eyes might be bothering him. She watches him walk off, and then as she's starting to think about maybe following, Sharon passes Jordan on the stairs, going in the opposite direction. Sharon -- in a pink button-down blouse and a vest -- spots Angela, takes the measure of the situation (new hair, Rayanne Graff and her sheer dress and visible bra) and looks betrayed. Angela, all in black, looks back at Sharon, from the other side of the great high-school divide. They stare at each other for a while, until Rayanne makes for the bathroom and tells Angela to join her, which she does.
