In the bedroom, Angela expresses doubts about Brian taking apart her parents' bed. Rayanne orders him to do it anyway, and Brian says that "that's the beauty part" -- he doesn't have to take apart the whole bed, just the headboard. Ready? Wackiness, comin' at ya. Brian proudly lifts the top of the headboard, and naturally the entire bed collapses.
At a filling station, Graham gasses up the car. Patty comes up to him, gulping aspirin and coffee, and admits that she "acted totally like an idiot" and made a fool of herself the night before, "but [he] still shouldn’t have left [her] alone all day while you were on your liquor hunt." Oh, God. This scene still makes my skin crawl. Graham gives her an "are you fucking kidding me" look and snorts that he didn't know it would take so long, and it seemed to "matter to" Neil and Sheryl. "What about…what matters to me?" Patty quavers angrily. Graham's almost laughing, he's so incredulous that Patty's picking a fight with him about this, but Patty doesn't even notice: "I mean, there I am, I'm waiting, and I'm waiting and I'm worrying, and I'm feeling like the minutes are ticking by, and then you tell me that you're late because you had to look under her hood!" That brings them both up short for a second before Graham leans towards her: "Wait a minute, what are we talking about here?" Before Patty can respond, Sheryl comes up with a bag of cheese puffs and says that she thinks "it was really fun," and they should all do it again sometime -- "only without Neil." Patty stuffs her sunglasses back on. Sheryl eats a cheese puff.
"Okay, on three -- one, two, three." Brian and Rickie each lift a side of the headboard, and Rayanne gets free of it and triumphantly kisses Brian and tells him he's a genius, and she runs around the bedroom gathering up her things. Angela, disbelievingly: "You're leaving?" Rayanne thinks she can still get something out of the weekend, but Angela grabs Rayanne's bag and snarls, "Don't you dare leave now!" Rayanne tries to grab the bag back, telling her to quit it, but Angela whines that Rayanne has to stay and that her parents will never trust her again; Rayanne pulls the bag, saying that Angela's "crossing the line," but Angela wails that she can't believe Rayanne, she's like "this curse that's destroying [her] life!" In the background, the others watch warily as Angela bitches at Rayanne for leaving and expecting them to clean up. The phone rings. Rickie and Sharon move to pull the girls apart; Angela keeps yelling that Rayanne is bad luck, and Rayanne taunts her, "Don't mince words, tell me how you feel." Danielle tries to get their attention. More struggling. "Hey. Hey, hey!" Danielle yells out. "Mom's gonna be home in twenty minutes!" Freeze on Sharon yanking Rayanne's waist and Rickie tugging on Angela's as all four of them turn to stare at Danielle.
