Subplot Of Ick. Mona is getting some fruity virgin drink from the bar. Mason walks up to give her his best lines. Mason: "So, want to come up to my room?" Mona: "Why?" Mason: "So we can have sex. I know you're just a whore deep down. You don't have to pretend with me." Mona looks at him in shock ("a shocked expression" is the new black in Pasadena), and then tosses her drink in his face. She stomps off, calling to her mother, as The Subplot Of Ick comes to an appropriate conclusion of Mason not getting any. I do feel as though I should point out that the actor who plays Mason, Christopher Marquette, does a really good job as the little slimeball. My dislike of Mason is entirely because of the intended characterization of the boy, and not because Christopher resorts to a whiny delivery or other lame overacting methods to telegraph his ickiness.
But unlike Mason, it looks like Boopsie and Tom might fare a little better. They're still leaning against the car, sucking on lollipops. Tom asks her about the party. Boopsie says it's full of stiffs. Tom says he's a bit stiff, too. Actually, he just introduces himself. Boopsie introduces herself. Boopsie says she likes his car. Tom says he likes her camera and asks if she's a photographer. Boopsie says she's an artist. Tom says he'd like to see her art sometime. Boopsie suggests that now might be a good time. They toss their lollipops aside and hop in Tom's car, off to recreate that Levi's commercial from last year with the woman who made paintings using her boyfriends' asses as the brush.
Inside, Lily is sitting up in her room, alone and confused, a single naïve voice of boring sanity in her entertainingly deranged family. Henry comes up to join her. Lily's mad at him. She tells him that she can't open up to him if he keeps hiding things from her. Lily thinks Henry trusts Catherine more than he trusts her. Henry insists that he doesn't; he just needed Catherine's help. Lily wants to know why. She says she has feelings for him, "but if [he's] just going to be mysterious and vague about everything, then…I feel lonely enough as it is." She starts crying a little bit. Henry decides to let the cat all the way out of the bag, so it can get something to eat and use the litter box. He tells Lily that his (alleged) mother isn't dead at all and that he saw her here at the party. He says that he doesn't want to keep anything from her and wants to tell her everything. Then he leans over and gives her a chaste kiss. Still no chemistry.
Rufus Wainwright begins to croon "Poses" in the background as we cut to the bar downstairs. Jayleen comes over to Will to torment him some more. She teases Will that it looks like he and Catherine make a happy couple. Will tells her that Robert is just "using her" to get to him. Jayleen responds, "Really. I'm being used?" like she's well aware of this, then leans in close and whispers in his ear, "Thanks for looking out for me." Of course, Catherine sees Jayleen's closeness to Will. Catherine looks like she's resorted to self-abuse by sticking a shrimp fork into a power outlet and holding it for five seconds. Will sees that Catherine saw the two of them, but she walks away before he can do anything.
