Hanna, Aria and Spencer study for the SATs, but Emily isn't there. She's covered in dirt and busily hiding stuff in her bed and getting texts from "A" about burying things. She shows up at the test wearing muddy shoes from the night before. We find out that she kissed Alison, wrote her a nasty letter and somehow the two of them bonded over Great Expectations. Emily loses her purse, only to have Wilden find it and rifle through it. Apparently, Emily was stupid enough to take pieces from the broken memorial and put them in her bag and bring it to the SATs. Idiot.

Spencer's mom rides in with the girls like the wicked witch of the west, gazing somewhat evilly at poor Alex, who happens to be taking the SATs too. But it turns out to be a good thing that she's there because she finds out that Det. Wilden is questioning minors without an adult around and rifling through unattended purses (not for the first time). She gives him an earful and threatens to get him fired, or at least removed from the case. After her tirade we see her softer side, and find out that she's not classist, but that a while ago she got drunk at the club and Alex listened to her talk about her cancer scare and helped her get in a cab, and of course, to acknowledge this would be a sign of weakness, so she terrorizes him and ignores him instead. Or she used to, but now she's not going to be an evil asshole anymore.

There's a tornado watch, but all the kids are still at the school for the SATs anyway, because these are the most poorly run SATS of all time. Holly Marie Mom is there proctoring (even though she might be in the room with her daughter which is against so many kinds of rules). The classrooms aren't locked, no one is sharpening pencils, and Det. Wilden is running around harassing students before their test. The girls are way overdressed, of course. Aria is in full makeup in a dress with patterened stockings and heels? Ridiculous on so many accounts.

Cute Noel tries to get Aria to go on a date, then they have a sing-a-long together. Yes, really. Fitz shows up to see them almost kissing. Then he tells Aria that he did some thinking and they shouldn't be together.

Chad Dad visits Melrose Mom so that he can fax a permission slip. On a Saturday. To a coach who probably isn't around because of the tornado. And like, email. And who has a giant fax machine in their house still? They sorta awkwardly almost make a date and it is gross.

Oh, and adorable Lucas is still selling all of Hanna's belongings for her, even though Mona's a bitch about it. Problem though -- Lucas has muddy shoes just like Emily. Please don't let my favorite nerd be evil! I can't handle it. Also, "A" sends some video of Alison to the cops.
