Dysfunctional Families

Later, they're hosing Heather down as she screams. Pete tells her they're going to test her lung function after this. She says he hates her and wants her to die; she asks Pete to let her die. Pete says Dell doesn't want her to die, and she needs to fight. Then he's in Betsey's room with everyone but Dell, telling them all what Dell said. They can't believe he said it, but Violet says he's upset and it's his way of dealing with a tragic situation. Pete says that to tell someone that when they're fighting for their life is crossing a line. Addison says he couldn't have meant it. But why couldn't he have? If Betsey were the one badly burned and Heather hadn't been, they'd all be saying it. Cooper wonders if Dell knew Heather was doing drugs again. Dell comes in then with coffee for everyone, so Pete goes to check on Heather. Dell says he didn't know about the drugs, and wouldn't have put Betsey in danger like that. He worries that it's too cold and Heather needs more blankets. Addison and Naomi go to get some more blankets.

As they're getting them, Naomi says she should have pushed him harder to think about it. She'd like a one-minute mental break. Naomi says Maya's the same: hating her and loving Rink, or Pink, or Dink, or whatever his name is. Heh. Addison says Bizzy's the same, too: Cocktails, cold smiles, you know, maternal. She says something's going on, but she doesn't know what. Then Bizzy calls, requesting more gin. They go back to Betsey's room.

Later, as Addison's unlocking her door, John and Joan Cusack's sister, Ann, greets her. It's a warm greeting, and Addison calls her Susan. It's been about eight years. Addison says they're both driving her crazy, and she doesn't know how Susan does it. Susan says breathe and many cocktails. She says she's here because wherever Bizzy goes, she goes. Susan says she doesn't know why Bizzy's there, and they go inside. The Captain greets Susan coldly, and goes to bed. Addison's puzzled, so she runs to tell Sam about it. To his credit, he first asks if it's something with Dell. But it's obviously all about Addison. She thinks the Captain's sleeping with Susan and thinks that's why he sent for Bizzy because Susan goes wherever Bizzy goes. She needs a drink, but Sam think she needs to kick them out before her liver drowns. She says, "I can't tell the Captain and Bizzy to leave. They're the Captain... and Bizzy." Sam says she's Addison Adrian Forbes Montgomery, and has more names than anyone else he knows. (He clearly doesn't know Kiefer Sutherland.) She agrees to tell them to leave, and leaves. Back at her place, she hears Susan telling someone she loves them, and assumes it's the Captain. She barges in and finds her mom and Susan kissing. Uh-oh. Not what she expected, but you'd have to be blind to not have seen that one coming.
